I never wanted to be a body painter I wanted to be a makeup fx artist and work on movies. I fell into being a body painter and Im okay at it. Im not the best but I’m alright for where I’m at. It pays my bills and lets me live a better life than working for 8 dollars at some store in the mall. There are times that I hate it though. I’ve become really jaded at looking a nude models. Any other body painter would probably agree, its a job and it happens so often you just don’t think about it anymore. But who do I get the most grief from….. straight males and now my girlfriend. I’ll go ahead and start my rant with most males of the world. Gotcha I have a neat job standing a painting chicks but you know what I’m an adult and I can handle it. Not to sound full of it but its like being a doctor, after you’ve seen one body you’ve seen them all sort of thing. Yes all bodies are not the same and yes I know which bodies are going to sell my product in a picture. That product being me the artist.  But I always run into meat head guys that just think have the most awesome job in the world! “Wow you get to paint naked chick all the time!” No I don’t thats just a part of what I do. So I just smile and play the part and act like yes I’m the luckiest guy ever. When no I’m not, painting bodies can sometimes be a pain in the ass and be a lot of work, theres no retirement fund, theres no insurance. But because I have boobs in my face I’m the king of the world. 

      Now its stupid hard to be in a relationship when you’re a body painter….why? Because we’re humans and jealousy is a big part of everyone. I’ve been doing this since 2003 but I’ve had to take breaks in the past because it would cause a disagreement in a relationship. I feel those breaks were for far too long and I could probably be more skilled if I didn’t let some girl get in the way of what I wanted to do. Guess what body paint is a novelty and it pays the bills. The argument is I pamper the models more than I do my girlfriend when she gets painted. Its also been pointed out that everyone else can see that Im pampering them more. Well you know what yes Im treating theses models and “models” super nice for many different reasons. First off its a comfort thing and trying to be professional. Being naked for art is a very awkward position and you want to make sure your model is comfortable.  Unless your working a big corporate event theres usually little to no money for the model. Sometimes its come out of my pocket. So if I’m being really nice to someone for getting painted it could be… oh hey the club is paying them really shitty but they want to use this person again next month for the same shitty pay. Rudy make them feel like they are a star so they’ll come back and work for the club.  

     But then theres being super nice and pampering a model because they’re coming out to an event or a shoot because they’re helping you out. They know theres no pay in it and the only thing they’re getting is a fun time or the chance to get some awesome pics. So you know what yes Im going to try to show my appreciation by being polite, providing food and drinks. You need to take a smoke break… sure. You need to sit down.. okay. But you know what thats fine because these people are taking time out of their lives to let you paint them. Yes Im going to pamper as much as possible. But no it to much for anyone that Im in a relationship to understand that simple concept.
